Star Trek: Starbase 777 - jefferies-tube-02

The group from the turbolift exited out here into a Jefferies tube which was periodically marked with '02.' Given that there are too many decks on a starbase to decide from, the Narrator has opted not to number the deck that the team would be closest to. It was somewhere near the science labs at least.

Vara grumbled as she called through the tubes, letting out a few Romulan curses as she crawled with skill. [“Shoulda slept in.”]

Quinn followed behind, trying their best to not look down as they did. Thank god for standard training or they'd have no hope right now. Thoughts kept flooding their brain about the medical implications of the power going out. Was it localised, or was it everywhere on the starbase? They didn't want to think about it, but they couldn't help but worry.

"Right let's get out at the next exit, I need to have a look at the power transfer systems. If I'm right there should be enough juice stored in the phaser arrays to get the lift to move, maybe even to medical then the command deck." Shane half shouted from the bottom of the group on the ladder.

"Not if this power malarkey has drained the power from everything." Quinn replied plainly and simply, not intending to sound the slightest bit rude but potentially accidentally doing so in the process, the stress of the sitation causing them to forget such basic things as calling Shane 'sir'. Although in all fairness he wasn't in uniform, so they had no idea what his rank was.

"Phaser arrays passively store energy since they're in standby whenever they're not down for maintenance. Even with an EMP they're designed to have enough juice for a few manual shots if something like this happens in combat. That logic holding I can redirect that energy into the EPS grid to get us partial systems." Shane explained, trying not to sound too pedantic about the weapons.

"No offence intended, but I highly doubt there's enough power in a phaser to power highly advanced computer systems." Quinn replied as they got nearer to the next tube exit, arms getting tired. "I'm not an engineer though, so don't take my word for it. What I do know for certain, though, is that weapons are usually locked in lockers or armouries, not readily accessible. Oh, and who are you, by the way?"

"The external phaser arrays not the hand phasers in the armouries. And there will be enough power to get a turbolift online and get a console working." Shane was a bit miffed by the second guessing by a doctor but he wasn't wearing his tactical colours to be fair. "Lieutenant Commander Shane Lawson, Starfleet Tactical. Suffice it to say I know how the weapons work." (edited)

Vara was annoyed with her lack of translator, she couldn’t understand what these two were saying. Vara just kinda waiting for them to work it out. [“This is why I work alone mostly.”] She muttered.

Listening to what Shane said, and then hearing him identify himself, Quinn all but let out a slight 'Oh' in response, continuing to climb, and feeling really rather glad they weren't in charge of weapons because they didn't have a clue how those systems worked. "Just let me know if your concussion symptoms get worse, Sir. The last thing I need is you falling all the way back down to the turbolift."

"Ain't the first, probably not the last I've had worse ones. But I'll keep you posted doc." Shane continued to climb toward the exit.

Quinn continued climbing up until they neared an exit. "I don't know about you but I'd quite like to get off this ladder and give my arms a rest before I fall." They said to the others, gesturing with one hand for Vara to exit, knowing she probably couldn't understand them.

After one heck of a climb, anyone in the jefferies tube made it to their destination.

Phoenix began climbing down the ladders as he found it more easier to go down the way than up, making sure that he read all the signage as he made his way to the #medical-bay.

Turning the corner, Terahl met a wild Command Ensign! "Hi," he glanced to the papers in hand, "Need a messenger?"

Phoenix slightly stumbled as he didn't expect somebody to be on the ladders where he was. "Yes, it would be helpful if I could split the time in establishing communication." Phoenix took three pieces of paper from himself, making sure that he handed it over to Terahl. "Make sure to state to each member of any other places that we need non-essential people to get in the jefferies tubes 30 to 50 feet apart so they could pass along written messages to each other. Make sure to go to another location to hand these bits of paper over." With that Phoenix made sure to get in one of the tubes as he began crawling in a certain direction without getting an answer from Terahl.

"Hey, wait! What's going on up there?" Terahl reached out to grab his shoulder. "We need to report what's happening to other sectors, don't we? So spill the beans!"

"No time for that. Interview me after this is all over." Phoenix reached for his shoulder as he pushed Terahl's hand off it.

"Are you fucking--" How fucking incompetent. Terahl let out a string of colorful curses before dashing off to help however he could.

The relay system was successfully set up, enabling divisions to communicate back and forth!

Scurrying through the tubes... Like the little rat man he is.... This is what he was made to do!
